The situation of Aston Villa target Matteo Guendouzi seems to be going from bad to worse at Marseille.

This week, we had already covered a piece from RMC Sport which said the midfielder ‘will be sold’ by the French side this summer, as he’s not in their plans for next season.

With the 24-year-old not getting much playing time at Marseille, ‘a conflict broke out’ at the Ligue 1 side, as reported by La Provence (via Le10Sport).

The story says that following the weekend’s match against Lyon, where he was not used, Guendouzi asked for a meeting with Marseille director Javier Ribalta to speak about his dissatisfaction.

It’s said the club could try to sell him ‘to a Premier League club’, even though Aston Villa are not named, as his ‘adventure seems to be coming to an end’.

It was last summer that Maseille spent €11m to sign the midfielder from Arsenal, following the loan spell he had there the season before.

So if Aston Villa come for his signing this summer, it’d be quite reasonable for the French side to try to recover the money they invested on him, and some profit.
