Feyenoord director Dennis te Kloese has admitted they’re trying to sign Bryan Gil from Tottenham, as they’ve been doing for the last few transfer windows.
1908.nl cover comments from the Feyenoord man today to Algemeen Dagblad, with him openly admitting the Tottenham outcast is a player on his radar.
Gil has been linked with a move away from Tottenham this summer after seemingly growing frustrated with a lack of playing time under Ange Postecoglou.
Several reports have made it clear that he’s told Tottenham that if he is not a part of their plans then he wants a permanent exit, rather than leaving on loan again as he has in the last few years.
That’s alerted Feyenoord and reports in the Netherlands have them pursuing a deal ahead of this summer, opening negotiations and making their interest concrete.
Te Kloese has now confirmed as much publically, insisting that their interest in the Tottenham man is a ‘fact’ at this point and they’ve actually been chasing his signature for a while. Whether they can get him this time, though, is another matter entirely.
“The fact that we are in the race for Gil has been the case for several transfer windows,” he said.
“We are looking again at what is possible. We offer a fantastic platform to give boys a good continuation of their career. Or to show themselves again. Gil is a good player, but there are many more clubs that are looking at that boy.”
