NAC Breda technical director Hans Smulders believes signing Manchester City youngster Brandon Barker on loan will be a good thing for the Dutch club. Barker is the sixth youngster from the Premier League side to join NAC Breda this summer.

Speaking to Voetbal International, Smulders was asked about NAC Breda’s latest capture from Manchester City. The Breda chief said Brandon is a great talent, and therefore thinks it’s an important signing for the club. Smulders thinks Brandon will now be able to develop at the club, and at the same time bring something to the team.

“Brandon is a great talent. His arrival is a win-win situation. He gets this opportunity to develop, and make us stronger as a team,” said Smulders on the Manchester City youngster.

In April it was confirmed NAC Breda and Manchester City had a formed a partnership, which would allow the Premier League side to send players on loan to the Dutch side. The deal will be for a period of five years, and the agreement gives a more formal basis to the relationship.

Manchester City will also collaborate with Breda and share knowledge on matters such as scouting, creating a culture of mutual expertise.
