With just a few days to go before clubs can actually talk to Emre Can officially about moving to them on a free in the summer, the stories surrounding Juventus’ interest in the Liverpool midfielder have gone up a notch on Friday.

Both Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport have articles dedicated to the Germany international’s situation, and both remain confident that Juventus are comfortably in the lead to acquire his services in the summer.

While the latter of the two suggest there’s a chance the Serie A side make an offer of €5-6m for Can in January, the likelihood of that happening remains slim, and it’s all about that free transfer come the end of the season.

Gazzetta have the most detail on it, explaining that Juventus’ director of football, Fabio Paratici, has already been to London to talk with the Liverpool midfielder’s entourage about a deal that, in order to see off the competition of Bayern Munich and Manchester City, would be around €5m/year for the next five years.

The Serie A side are also hoping Sami Khedira will be an unofficial intermediary here, ensuring he ends up being a ‘magnet’ for Emre Can, convincing him moving to Turin is the right thing to do.

This is probably as confident as both newspapers have sounded regarding the Liverpool midfielder’s arrival in June, and with no renewal agreement on the horizon at Anfield, there’s every chance they might end up being right.
