Director of football confirms Leicester transfer, player currently undergoing medical

 

It’s the day of the centre-backs on Tuesday, with Leicester, Crystal Palace and West Brom all looking to bolster in that department, while Southampton could very much add someone there too.

With reports from Belgium that Leicester had seen two bids for Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodji rejected, it appears another target could be on their way to the King Power Stadium instead, and that is Udinese’s Molla Wague.

The transfer is nothing new, with multiple outlets in Italy reporting the news yesterday that a deal was all but done.

However, claims can be just that, but when a director of football confirms a deal, you can be certain it’s well on its way.

Speaking outside the Starhotels Business Palace in Milan where all the Serie A deadline day action takes place, Udinese’s Nereo Bonato explained to TuttoMercatoWeb that all that remained to complete the deal taking Molla Wague to Leicester were ‘details’.

The director of football also explained the player was currently undergoing his medical ahead of the proposed move, which is believed to be a loan.
