Besiktas board member Erdal Torunogullari has spoken to Hurriyet and confirmed the Super Lig club’s manager Sergen Yalcin would like to keep Arsenal loanee Mohamed Elneny in his team for next season.

Speaking about the current situation, Torunogullari said they are targeting young players for the summer transfer window and they would like to keep their loan players such as Mohamed Elneny and Kevin Prince Boateng if possible.

With regards to the Arsenal midfielder, Torunogullari said it’s obvious the club manager Sergen Yalcin enjoys working with the Egyptian international, but the financial side of the transfer could make things difficult: “It’s true that our manager Sergen Yalcin loves Elneny and enjoying working with him, but his wages and the other financial aspects of the deal are obvious.

“There is a huge number of players in the world, so we have alternatives. It’s too early to make a call, we will see what will happens in the future.”

Elneny joined Besiktas on a season long loan deal last summer and he’s been one of the outstanding players for the Black Eagles this season.

The Arsenal owned player has hinted in recent weeks he would like to remain with the Istanbul side beyond this campaign, but his wages may be an issue.

He’s contracted to the Gunners until June 2022.
