The sporting director of Kalmar has told the Swedish media the deal to take Marcus Antonsson to Leeds United has yet to be finalised.
Antonsoon is expected to become Garry Monk’s first signing as the new Leeds United manager looks to bolster his squad for next season.
Speaking to AftonBladet, club chief Thomas Andersson Borstam was asked about claims in the British media that Antonsson had agreed to join Leeds United on a three-year contract.
Borstam said as yet there is no agreement in place for Antonsoon to leave the club, but confirmed they hope to close a deal soon.
“A deal is not done yet. We have an agenda that we should try to complete everything on time,” said the Kalmar director on the deal with Leeds United.
Earlier this week there were reports Antonsson had passed a medical with Leeds United, ahead of his £2m move to Elland Road.
The Swede has been Kalmar’s main source of goals since joining the club in 2015, finding the net 22 times in 40 league games.
