Liverpool forward Diogo Jota will be out for two months after picking up a knee injury in the draw with Midtjylland.

That’s according to Portuguese newspaper Record, who say the forward’s knee injury will see him spend a significant period on the sidelines.

Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp confirmed that Jota was set to miss the clash with Fulham this weekend after picking up the injury in midweek.

Reports in England stated that the Reds were reluctant to put a timescale on his absence as yet, instead waiting for swelling caused by the injury to settle down before discovering its severity.

Record, though, say they have learned that Jota will ‘be away from the pitch’ for a period of two months, suggesting the damage is serious.

O Jogo back that up somewhat by stating while the full extent of the injury is as yet unknown, it is ‘generating apprehension’ at Liverpool.

They don’t, however, state whether this is their information or just their interpretation of the reports from England.

Either way, the injury comes at a bad time for the Reds, whose list of absentees continues to grow at possibly the worst possible time.
