Thomas Delaney’s excellent Werder Bremen form, and weekend hat-trick, is a cause of exctiement for the Danish media. FC Copenhagen agreed to sell Delaney to Bremen last summer, as long as the player could stay in Denmark until the January transfer window.
Everton tried to hijack the deal, by offering £5m to Bremen, which would have presented a profit without Delaney even playing for the German club.
The midfielder is already worth quite a bit more, and Ronald Koeman will be aware of that should Everton make a move in the summer.
Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet say they’ve been informed FC Copenhagen will receive up to 15% of any future transfer fee, and given Delaney’s form that could come sooner than expected.
Mentioning Koeman interest and Everton attempts, Ekstra Bladet say a proposal from a Premier League club, and by extension a move to Goodison Park, would be ‘difficult to say no’ to during the summer window.
Everton interest in Delaney is certainly worth keeping an eye on, given the attempts to sign the player last summer and during the winter window.
