Despite Chelsea spending a lot of money to acquire the services of Hakim Ziyech, the player hasn’t had the best time in London.
Bought when Frank Lampard was in charge, he failed to convince the Englishman’s successor, Thomas Tuchel, and is similarly struggling under Graham Potter.
There was talk of a potential exit from Chelsea in the summer, with Milan reportedly keen, while Ajax were touted as a late destination following the transfer of Antony to Manchester United.
That never happened, with Lucas Ocampos being brought in on loan instead, but with his situation hardly improving at Stamford Bridge, the forward will be eyeing up a potential exit in January if he can, even if he won’t admit it.
Following Morocco’s game at the World Cup, Ziyech had a chat with NOS, who couldn’t help but ask the Chelsea forward about a potential return to the Netherlands in the next transfer window.
He replied: “That’s difficult to predict. Difficult to assess. We don’t know what happens in the winter. You know, it’s football.”
Since signing for Chelsea, the 29-year-old has made 92 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and assisting another 10.
