The Portuguese media continue to report on Sporting’s desire to sign Wolves’ CHiquinho, and the increasing difficulty of the deal.
The winger had spent last season on loan at Famalicão, but he has now returned to Wolves and is making a mark in their pre-season games.
O Jogo have now issued an update about the situation of the 24-year-old, stating that he has been ‘excellent’ during pre-season and has impressed manager Gary O’Neil to a point where he is in the plans for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
The forward is a target for Sporting but his pre-season performances have made it difficult for the player to leave Wolverhampton.
Despite that a transfer is ‘not impossible’ so there’s some hope.
Wolves haven’t completely ruled out the possibility of his sale but his price has now most definitely gone up, the report states. The player was initially valued at €10m and Sporting may now have to match that or go higher, when not so long ago they were looking at a much better deal.
