Back in August, Palmeiras youngster Estevão Willian’s agent André Cury admitted that Manchester City could be an option for his client in the future.
Cury made this claim when revealing that he has already received offers for Estevão but refused to categorically confirm if the Citizens have sent a proposal. The agent had also backed the 16-year-old to be a future contender for the Ballon d’Or.
The winger joined the Brazilian club from Cruzeiro in 2021 and is currently part of their U20 side. He has caught the attention of top European clubs and the list includes Manchester City, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
“Sometimes it’s a bit difficult to explain because I know that those big clubs are interested in me, but I’m focused on improving my football, trying to do my best to be able to reach those clubs and develop more and more and be the best in the world,” he said.
Despite attracting interest from Manchester City and PSG, the Brazilian has insisted that his dream is to play for Barca.
Estevão’s contract at Palmeiras is until 2026 and he won’t be eligible to arrive in the UK until he turns 18 years of age in April 2025.
