We can’t keep up with the Catalan media and their claims of Paco Alcacer potentially moving to Watford this summer.
Not so long it was insisted the Barcelona striker had absolutely no intention of joining the Hornets. He wasn’t interested, not the club for him, there was no chance.
That was soon forgotten and a transfer again talked up, and on Wednesday all the power was pushed back toward Watford. Barcelona were waiting to hear the Premier League club’s final answer on a transfer, hoping to offload the forward.
Today’s edition of Sport claimed the move is ‘practically’ ruled out. It was a small article in the newspaper, and that was that.
Now Sport have changed their mind, publishing an online article which claims Gerard Deulofeu has been trying to convince his former teammate to move to Watford.
Deulofeu himself completed a permanent transfer to the club from Barca this summer, having previously been on loan at Javi Gracia’s side.
The former Everton player is said to be ‘delighted’ with his move to Watford, and telephoned Alcacer to persuade him.
Sport now don’t think the deal is dead, but Watford still want a loan and Barca prefer a permanent transfer.
