Galatasaray have managed to loan Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina on deadline day.

The Gabonese midfielder has strongly linked with a move to the Turkish side’s arch rivals Besiktas last month, but he ended up at joining Galatasaray.

The club have also informed the Stock Market (KAP) about the details of the deal as they have the redemption clause for the Saints midfielder, which is set at €16m.

The Premier League side managed to pocket a €1m loan fee as a part of the agreement and Lemina will earn €2.05m from Galatasaray over the course of the campaign.

The 26-year-old had fallen out with the Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhüttl, making it clear in the press he wanted to exit St Mary’s this summer, which he has now achieved, albeit on a temporary basis.

Lemina made 21 appearances for the Saints last season in the Premier League as he’s under contract with his club until June 2022.
