Real Betis are looking to add Leeds United’s Mateo Joseph to their attack next season.

Earlier this week, we covered claims from Spain that the La Liga club have started talks to sign the striker.

Diario de Sevilla reports on Real Betis’ efforts to try to find an agreement with Leeds for the 21-year-old’s transfer.

Daniel Farke mainly used Joseph as a substitute this season and he managed three goals and three assists from 39 Championship games.

Although the numbers aren’t that impressive, the Andalusian club have decided to bet on him this summer. They have been in contact with the Whites to find a common ground over the transfer fee.

According to the report, Real Betis are looking for a deal around €8m, probably including bonuses, and offer a 20% sell-on clause to Leeds. The percentage of profit on a future sale could be key for Manuel Pellegrini’s side to find an agreement.

Diario de Sevilla report Real Betis are advancing the negotiations with the English club, with a hope of a final agreement. If it doesn’t work out, they will move on other targets.

Mateo Joseph is currently with Spain U21 at the ongoing U21 Euros, and he scored in their 3-2 win over Slovakia U21.
