Turkish club Ankaragucu have now announced officially that they’ve signed Hadi Sacko from Leeds United, and released some details about the move.
Sacko spent the first half of the season on loan with Las Palmas but when the winter transfer window opened they made efforts to get Victor Orta to find a new home for the player in the second half of this campaign.
Originally it was thought Sacko had a choice between a move to Cyprus or Bulgaria, but those options fell away, for reasons which weren’t explained, and he’s now helping Ankaragucu in their battle against relegation.
On their official website, Ankaragucu quote the player as saying: “I know I’ve come to such a huge club. With our passionate fans, I am confident we can put Ankaragucu where it belongs.”
That will be avoiding relegation from the Super Lig, and if he succeeds he’ll be a hero there.
The move is a straight loan until the end of the season, it doesn’t seem like there’s a buying option… nothing on that is mentioned.
Sacko’s arrival is being hyped up, with the club tweeting a Photoshop creation showing him as some kind of arriving superhero.
No pressure then.
