On April 11th, we covered claims made by La Repubblica that Manchester United are ‘serious’ over signing Sergej Milinković-Savić in the summer.
The Lazio star’s contract expires in 2024, but he ‘wants a new adventure’ from next season.
That’s according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who make it clear he has not put pressure on his club to push for a transfer. However, the 27-year-old has ‘legitimate ambitions’ to take the ‘big leap’ in the next window.
Recent reports have indicated Juventus are interested in the midfielder and there is also talk of a possible player-plus-cash deal to sign him.
‘What is certain’ is that Lazio don’t want to ‘go below’ €75m to part ways with Milinković-Savić.
In addition to this, the Biancocelesti chairman, Claudio Lotito, is not interested to have another player as a part of the deal and instead, he is looking for a ‘cash offer’.
The Italian club, for their part, are aware of the Red Devils and Paris Saint-Germain’s interest in their star and are ‘waiting for an auction to break out’, which is why Lotito remains hopeful that more top clubs will join the battle for the Serbian.
Meanwhile, Milinković-Savić’s agent Mateja Kezman, who has ‘solid’ relationship with Lazio, ‘works to find the best solution for his client’.
The player ‘seems destined to leave’ Maurizio Sarri’s side, but it’s not clear as to where he will end up in the summer window.
To sum it up, Lazio are aware of United and PSG’s interest in Milinković-Savić and are ready to sanction his sale, as long as they receive a ‘cash offer’.
The player is also looking to leave in the summer and his agent is already at work to find a new club for his client.
