Players on loan always try to impress wherever they are sent to, but things don’t always work out quite as planned.
This his been happening to Chelsea’s Nathan, who’s having his fourth consecutive spell away from Stamford Bridge, this time at Brazilian side Atlético-MG.
The midfielder moved to Brazil in July this year, and wasn’t good enough to impress in the few months since. That’s why last week he gave an interview saying he hopes he can improve in 2019.
“I think this first half of 2019 will be important not only to me, but to other athletes as well. We will be on the pitch and giving the maximum so we can start the season in style,” the player told Superesportes.
But the very same Superesportes brings a story today which says that Nathan may not even have a chance to impress in the 2019 season.
They claim that Atlético-MG are trying to clear up their squad, especially of players who haven’t been much used. And Nathan is among them.
The outlet says that Atlético must find a deal with Chelsea. And as the Blues are said not to be interested in keeping the player, he would be loaned out again in the summer anyway.
So it sounds like Nathan will soon have another club. His deal with Chelsea only expires in 2020.
