Last week we covered reports from Turkey that Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza travelled to England last week after being given time off to negotiate a transfer to West Bromwich Albion.
The Brazilian has been linked with a move to West Brom in recent months, after being on the verge of a move to the Hawthorns in the last window.
A transfer fee was agreed with Fenerbahce, but due to PSG star Grzegorz Krychowiak joining the Premier League side on loan, De Souza’s move never materialised.
Despite De Souza not getting his move to West Brom in August, in recent weeks the possibility joining the Baggies has resurfaced, resulting in the player flying to the UK last week.
However, a common theme on De Souza’s possible arrival at West Brom was that it depended on Tony Pulis keeping his job.
Pulis was this week sacked by West Brom after a poor start to the season, which could puts a question mark on De Souza signing for the club.
With West Brom now searching for their next manager it’s likely whoever is appointed will have their own targets, and De Souza could be left disappointed a second time.
