There’s been several claims over the past few weeks that Leeds United are keen on Fran Sol, with the suggestion being a deal would be difficult because of the player’s preference to move elsewhere.
The Spaniard is currently playing for Willem II in the Eredivisie, and has managed 17 goals so far this season over league and cup competitions. During the last campaign he scored 20, and looks to be improving even on that, so the interest is no surprise.
Now Sol is on the verge of a move to Dinamo Kiev, and it doesn’t look like much of a fight has been put up.
Brabants Dagblad, the local newspaper to Willem, covers the Leeds claims on Monday and states: ‘Also late last night, Dinamo Kiev was the only team to report to Willem II. The name of Sol was also linked to, for example, Leeds United, the leader of Championship. But in Tilburg there is only the bid of 3 million euros from Dinamo, plus bonuses, so that the transfer amount could still increase considerably.’
It doesn’t look like there’s been any further developments from Leeds United or elsewhere, with Brabants also reporting the 26 year old hasn’t turned up at training this morning, with the suggestion he’s working on finalising the move to Dinamo Kiev.
