On Tuesday, we covered a story from Foot Mercato claiming that Chelsea’s Lucas Piazon had been offered to a number of French clubs, all of which had kindly refused the chance to acquire the young Brazilian.

However, the article suggested there was a good chance the 25-year-old could end up at Torino for around €3m before the end of the January transfer window.

Alas, that won’t happen.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport on Wednesday, who address the rumour, the Chelsea forward was indeed offered to the Serie A side, but, much like their French counterparts, they decided to pass on the opportunity.

This now means at least five clubs have said no to Piazon, whose contract at Stamford Bridge is due to run out in the summer.

At this rate, there’s a good chance he’ll just have to sit and wait in London until June comes around to sign elsewhere on a free.
