While the local English media believe that Manchester United are interested in Atlético Madrid’s Marcos Llorente on a loan with a view to buy, over in Spain, they don’t feel there’s a chance of the midfielder moving.
That comes from Mundo Deportivo on Wednesday afternoon, who relay the reports from this side of the Channel before adding what appears to be their own information.
They explain to their readers that Llorente’s lack of minutes under Diego Simeone appear to have led to this story emerging in England, and yet there are no plans at the Wanda Metropolitano to let the former Real Madrid man go.
While Atlético do want to cut down their squad in order to give their manager the forward he wants, they aren’t planning on doing so by getting rid of a midfielder.
Yes, Manchester United do need some midfield reinforcements to bolster their squad for the second half of the season, but it seems they might need to look elsewhere if Atlético decide to keep hold of all their players in that area of the pitch.
