Pierre-Michel Lasogga was in Leeds over the weekend. That’s according to fans who spotted him, and claims from the German media.

Not required at Hamburg, it was a good chance for Lasogga to travel to the city and weigh up a transfer, see what Leeds United and England would have to offer him both short and long term.

Catching the match against Preston North End was an added bonus for the Hamburg player.

The striker being in Leeds from Saturday has made everything feel imminent, but Hamburger Morgenpost suggest there’s still a way to go. This is in line with what has been reported in Hamburg previously.

Whilst the Bundesliga club are happy to see the back of Lasogga and his wages, they want a deal which suits them and for Leeds United to pay a good percentage of the player’s wages.

That’s what discussions have revolved around, but Hamburger Morgenpost says there’s not actually been an official offer from Leeds United yet.

That may not be so strange, if the clubs are in amicable discussions then there’s little reason to disrupt that with an offer which could annoy Hamburg.
