On Tuesday, news emerged that despite an injury suffered over the weekend, Bryan Gil wasn’t expected to be out for too long.
The winger, currently at Valencia on loan from Tottenham, was taken off in the 78th minute against Cádiz, replaced by Denis Cheryshev, and there was a worry the new fan favourite at the Mestalla would have to miss multiple games.
However, the news about the Spurs loanee is better than first thought, with Super Deporte bringing the latest on the situation on Wednesday.
They state that ‘despite his alarming gestures of pain’, everything was more of a ‘fright’ than anything else, and the Tottenham man ‘will return to train with the group sooner rather than later’.
Super Deporte explain that ‘the first clues about his physical condition were revealed last Monday and there were doses of optimism’, and ‘with the passage of time, the pain in his hip subsided’.
The Tottenham winger was ‘able to leave Mestalla on his own two feet with the game already over’, with the tests undertaken during the next training session ‘did not show any injuries’.
The belief is now that ‘he will be available again for Bordalás when the squad returns to training Thursday at 10.15am to prepare for the next league game against Rayo Vallecano’.
He is set to have the day off on Wednesday to recuperate some more, but it appears the Tottenham loanee is OK.
