Fiorentina want to ‘exploit’ Manchester United’s interest in defender Pietro Comuzzo and secure a big sale in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who report that Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain like the 19-year-old.

They explain that after establishing himself as an ‘immovable starter’ for Raffaele Palladino, the Fiorentina defender is at the centre of several transfer rumours. He’s already been linked to Napoli, with a €20m bid rejected already.

Fiorentina turned that down as they want to ‘exploit’ that Manchester United and PSG are also keen on the defender.

The Italian club even have a plan in place. According to CM.it’s information, the Viola hope to reach their third consecutive Conference League final and qualify for Europe. That, they believe, will allow them to set a price tag of €35-40m on the youngster.

It will also let them take advantage of the fact Manchester United are preparing ‘for yet another revolution’ on the transfer market.

We, though, would take this with a massive pinch of salt. It very much feels like a stretch and Manchester United have just randomly been thrown into the mix.

For a start, it’s been well established that Manchester United can’t spend as big as they would like in the coming months without sorting their finances and squad first. Furthermore, the current group is inundated with defenders.

We would suggest this may in fact be an agent starting the game early ahead of the summer, where Comuzzo is likely to be a name several clubs look at.
