Last summer, when Arthur left Liverpool to return to Juventus, there wasn’t even a rumour about him staying at Anfield.
The midfielder only made one appearance for the Reds, with injuries not helping, and that turned into a quite disappointing time for him.
As Arthur’s agent Frederico Pastorello was now interviewed by TuttoMercatoWeb, he gave a brief mention to the midfielder’s time at Liverpool.
According to the representative, the Brazilian deserved more chances under Jurgen Klopp, but that never happened.
“First of all I publicly thank Joe Barone and Daniele Pradè, as well as Vincenzo Italiano. They had the courage to listen to my insistent invitation to think about this player, because coming from such a difficult season like the one at Liverpool, with an injury that lasted longer than expected and a difficult recovery, even though in my opinion he deserved to play a bit more, it was not easy to get him,” Frederico Pastorello told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“I was certain though that he would do well, firstly because of the tactical qualities of the Italian game that are perfect for how Arthur plays his role. Then I thought the environment in Florence could be ideal for him, since it is an important but still familiar club, with an ownership that is present.”
Following his return from Liverpool, Arthur was sent by Juventus to Fiorentina, also on a loan spell. It turns out that the midfielder had a good adaptation to the Tuscany side, becoming a regular starter there, and that’s why his permanent transfer is now a big subject in the local media.
La Viola are said to have a right to buy him at the end of the season, although Pastorello claims there are now some ‘problems’ which could slow that operation, so we’ll have to wait and see.
