Fotboll Direkt have reported on the latest developments regarding Derby County’s pursuit of Djurgårdens IF goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström and they say his transfer to the Rams will soon be officially announced.

According to Fotboll Direkt, following his meeting with the Championship club earlier his week the player has said yes to the move. It’s reported Derby County will pay just over £2m for Zetterström and there will be add ons which could see it rise to £600K.

We covered comments made by the Swede last week when he said it would be dream to play in England and it now seems likley this is going to happen for him.

Djurgårdens IF are reportedly already looking for a replacement for the 26-year-old and are weighing up a move for Al Fateh goalkeeper Jacob Rinne. Brommapojkarna’s Filip Sidklev is also said to be an option for the Swedish side.

Zetterström has made 15 league appearances for his club this season and is contracted to until June 2025. The Stockholm born keeper made his debut for Sweden last year, and will now continue his career at Derby County.
