According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, via Sporx, Derby Country are closing in on signing Darmstadt striker Serdar Dursun.
The 28-year-old Turkish forward has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce as they look to strengthen their attack before the window closes next week.
However, it’s claimed Rams manager Phillip Cocu is very close to snatching him from his former club.
Dursun has reportedly held transfer talks with Fener over a possible transfer, but Sabah say Derby County have submitted an official offer which is worth €1m.
It’s reported the forward is keen to join Derby Country as he wants to continue his career in English football. The Turkish newspaper also adds if both clubs reach an agreement then Dursun will fly to England to sign for the Championship side.
Cocu needs to get his team going again after a terrible start to the season, which sees them in the relegation zone after three games.
Dursun made 36 appearances in all competitions for Darmstadt last season and scored 19 goals. His contract with the German side will expire at the end of the season.
