The theme of Allan leaving Napoli continues in the Italian media, and the midfielder’s future is increasingly wrapped in the possibility of a transfer.
When he was initially linked with Everton, as half of Serie A were once Carlo Ancelotti arrived at Goodison Park, a transfer to the Toffees didn’t seem likely at all. It was something of a dream, and there was the possibility of the Premier League club being used to help the player get a Napoli renewal.
Things have steadily changed, and now the situation is that a transfer is very much on the cards for the summer, with the player’s perceived value falling.
Italian journalist Umberto Chiariello was quizzed on Napoli transfers at the weekend, and Area Napoli quote him saying about the midfielder: “On Allan, the truth is that it depends on the offers that will arrive: Carlo Ancelotti, his great admirer, wants him.”
Meanwhile, over at Calciomercato, they’ve been covering Juventus interest in Allan.
The Brazilian is ‘really leaving the Napoli project for June’. He’s lost prominence under Rino Gattuso, and it’s stated there’s been some lesser performances and ‘mild’ training.
It’s claimed Allan was offered to Juventus in January for €40m, a figure too high for the Turin club with Napoli not wanting to give discounts.
Given that the €40m was once €60m, that it’s fallen so much is good news for Everton interest. They may have to watch out for Juve in the summer, however, this is a deal Marcel Brands could potentially start working on soon.
