Former Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi has told the Italian media he’s happy his former Elland Road teammate Giusesppe Bellusci is doing well since returning to Serie A. Bellusci joined Empoli on loan in the summer, and the Italian side have a right of redemption on the Leeds United defender.
Speaking to Ascoli Live, Bianchi said he was made up when he heard about Bellusci’s home debut for Empoli in which the 27-year-old scored the opening goal.
The Ascoli star believes Bellusci is playing at a high level since joining Empoli in the summer, and he too hopes he can start scoring goals for his side.
“I’m was happy for Bellusci, when I heard he scored in the game. I am happy especially since returning to Serie A he’s been playing really strong. It is also time for me to score a few goals. Who knows, maybe this Saturday will be a good time,” said the former Leeds United midfielder.
Since Bellusci left Leeds United in the transfer he has been critical about the club, and has spoken about the difficulties he had during his time in England.
The central defender believes the Italian players were singled out if results were poor, and also complained about the lack of emphasis on defensive tactics from the Leeds United coaching staff.
