Torino are giving serious consideration to signing former Aston Villa defender Kieran Richardson, according to claims in the Italian media. Richardson has been a free agent since his contract expired with Aston Villa in the summer, and has also been linked with a move to Leeds United in recent weeks.

Tuttosport have today reported Torino are keen to bring in a left sided defender when the transfer window re-opens in January. With the recent injury to first choice left back Cristian Molinaro the Serie A side have been linked with defenders in recent weeks, and now Richardson is considered to be on their shortlist along with another free agent Kevin Constant.

Tornio have already brought in Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart from England, and Richardson could now follow him.

Leeds United brought in eleven players during the last window, but were still showing an interest in the former England international.
