Mundo Deportivo try to make very clear on Saturday that Ousmane Dembele is not for sale.
The Frenchman’s future at Barcelona has been under some doubt since not long after he arrived.
Antoine Griezmann knocking back a Barca transfer, in favour of staying at Atletico Madrid, has been a boost for the player but others, including Chelsea’s Willian, are now being linked.
That apparently led to claims, via Spanish radio and English media, that Dembele has been offered to Chelsea by Barcelona. Mundo Deportivo say this hasn’t gone down well, and the Catalan club have reacted with ‘complete outrage’ to the reports.
Dembele is ‘not for sale’ and won’t be used in any efforts to sign another player, such as Chelsea’s Willian.
There’s confidence that a good preseason with Barcelona will make all the difference, and Dembele will be able to display the level the coaches and technical staff believe he has.
But it’s going to be difficult to get a good preseason in, given he won the World Cup with France less than a week ago.
