Italian newspaper Tuttosport has an entire page dedicated to Juventus loanees today. The Old Lady currently have almost fifty players spread around Europe, so it takes somes catching up.
One if these guys is Dario del Fabro, currently at the Serie B side Novara Calcio, who have a buying option over him at the end of the season. Now 22, the defender has been loaned out many times during his career, not only after being acquired by Juventus, but also when he belonged to Cagliari.
One of these moves was to Leeds United, where he spent some time during the 2014-15 season, with the player’s temporary move to Elland Road leading to nothing more.
Del Fabro was interviewed in Tuttosport’s article, and among the many stories he had to tell, he was asked about his time at Leeds United.
“Fantastic adventure, unfortunately lasting only one year. I played in what would be our Primavera, but I started in the FA Cup against Sunderland in front of 35,000 people. I learned English that I’m now trained to watching movies in the original language.”
On the strange breakfast habits he encountered whilst with Leeds United, Del Fabro explained: “And then I’ve seen so much, especially at breakfast: I wasn’t used to fried potatoes and beans… (laughs). I am very fascinated by different cultures. Always whens I have two free days, me and my girlfriend travel as authentic tourists. Russia, France, England, Spain, Switzerland… We visited Europe almost all of it, and soon we will go to New York.”
To end the interview, he was quizzed if there’s a special club he would like to play at, and responded: “Torino, Juventus. And if it will not be there, the Premier League fascinates me.”
Is a return on the books in case Leeds United achieve promotion? Probably not, but perhaps he could be tempted with some granola.
