It’s been reported Anton Donkor is close to an agreement to remain with Everton for another six months, after discussions with the sporting director of Wolfsburg.
The 19-year-old joined the Premier League side in January on an initial six month loan deal from the Bundesliga side.
Wolfsburger Allgemeine have revealed Donkor could commit himself to Everton for another six months. The Merseyside club have asked Wolfsburg if they can extend his stay in England after his initial loan period expired last week, and it seems like his parent club will agree on a deal
Last week Donkor held talks with Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe, and it was decided the best thing for the young midfielder was to stay at Everton.
The player told the German media he believes remaining at Everton is the right thing to do.
“This is definitely the right thing for me,” said the Everton loanee.
Due to an injury he picked up in February, Donkor was restricted to just two Everton U23 games last season. It’s likely he will again be involved with Everton’s reserves next season if returns, rather than stepping up to the first team.
Donkor said his long term aim is to impress Everton so much they want to keep him.
