Manchester United are one of several clubs interested in Verona defender Marash Kumbulla.
Kumbulla has been a regular for Verona this season, helping them to have the fifth-best defensive record in the league with just 20 goals conceded so far.
His ‘excellent defensive performances’ have ‘drawn the attention’ of teams across Europe, and according to Tuttomercatoweb, Manchester United are one of them.
They are not the only club keen, though, with RB Leipzig and several Italian sides, including Atalanta, Inter Milan and Napoli all looking at the 19-year-old.
Indeed, Napoli are said to be ‘clearly ahead’ in the race to sign him and have already sent a proposal worth €15m plus bonuses to try and get ahead of the competition.
Verona would like to create an ‘auction’ and sell Kumbulla this month, but keep him until the end of the season.
Their asking price isn’t mentioned, although should Manchester United be seriously interested, Verona would presumably want at least €15m given that’s already been offered by Napoli.
At this point, their interest doesn’t appear to anything big, but if they are keen, they may have to move quickly to get him ahead of the competition in Italy.
