Liverpool, much to their displeasure, are having to be active on transfer deadline day following Joel Matip’s injury against Tottenham.
They’re already in the process of signing Ben Davies from Preston North End, but the expectation is they might go for a second player as well.
That means a bunch of names are circulating, ranging from Duje Caleta-Car to Sven Botman at Lille.
The Dutchman has had a great start to the season with the French side following a transfer from Ajax Amsterdam, and that’s why he isn’t interested in moving.
This is according to France Football, who report the player ‘won’t be leaving’ Lille on transfer deadline day, despite interest from Milan and ‘notably’ Liverpool.
He believes his club have a good chance of playing for the title this season, as they sit top, three points ahead of Paris Saint-Germain and two ahed of Lyon, and he’s also eager to play against Ajax in the Europa League.
That doesn’t mean he won’t leave in the future, but it feels like he’s prepared to at least see out his first season in France before thinking about making another step in his blossoming career.
