According to Greek radio station Sport 24, free-agent defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos is being tracked by Sheffield United as he looks to find himself a new team.

It’s reported the 28 year old has been attracting interest from various Greek clubs but the contracts proposed to him are not good enough financially.

In addition it’s claimed the player is waiting for an offer from Sheffield United, but the former Hamburg defender will still to have to pass a detailed medical before signing a deal with the Premier League side.

Given the Greek defender has suffered some serious injuries throughout his career, interested clubs will want to make sure their investment is safe.

The Blades will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer after consolidating their place in the Premier League for another season.

Papadopoulos left Hamburg at the start of this month after his contract expired and is now looking for a new club. In the last two seasons he’s only made three Bundesliga2 appearances for the German side.
