According to a claim in the Turkish media, Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma will turn down the chance to sign for Newcastle United and join Fenerbahce instead.

The Chelsea player has been linked with both Newcastle United, weakly, and Fenerbahce is this transfer window, but it seems the Istanbul club have won the race for the Frenchman.

Newcastle are named specifically, and it’s claimed Zouma has told Chelsea he doesn’t want to move to the club.

Takvim report Zouma is very close to signing for Fenerbache on loan for the season, and that his agent has confirmed this is the move he wants.

The Istanbul club have offered a loan fee of €1.5m to Chelsea, and even though the Premier League side want €3.5m it’s expected they can find an agreement.

Fenerbahce sporting director Damian Comolli has been in the market for a player like Zouma this summer with just two recognised senior central defenders at the club.

This could be PR from a Turkish perspective, making it look like Fener are beating a Premier League club.
