Sebastien Corchia hopes to be fit for Sevilla’s match against Liverpool this week, but that certainly doesn’t mean he will be.
Forced off against Celta Vigo at the weekend, Corchia is struggling with a knee injury and there’s no guarantee of his availability.
Mundo Deportivo report Sevilla started their preparations on Sunday for the Liverpool match, an important tie for both sides. Either Liverpool or Sevilla could guarantee their progress to the next round, so it’s likely both will be going towards the Tuesday match in full steam.
The Spanish newspaper says Corchia has a problem with his left knee, and the fullback taking to social media to state he’s ‘ready’ for Liverpool hasn’t exactly convinced everyone he actually is.
Gabriel Mercado and Joaquín Correa, who didn’t take part against Celta Vigo at the weekend, are expected to be fit for Liverpool.
Local Seville newspaper Estadio Deportivo also cover Corchia’s knee problem, although and they state he could be dropped/rested due to the return of Mercado.
