Watford will be paying Sporting €3m for the transfer of left-back Marvin Zeegelaar, the Portuguese press reports.
When the news broke on this Wednesday, there was still doubt whether the player would move on a loan deal or a permanent transfer.
But a couple of newspapers, including O Jogo, now claim the player is leaving for good, and will sign a four year contract with Watford.
Sporting will be keeping 30% of a future sale. They’ve already made some good profit after signing the player for only €400k in January 2016.
The newspaper claims the Dutchman had his Watford medical on Wednesday afternoon and the announcement should be made at any time.
Sporting have been trying to offload Zeegelaar for a while. The player rejected a move to Norwich City in January, and a summer exit looked certain. Other sides such as Hull City, Wolves, Alavés and Sevilla were said to be interested.
