Last week, the Turkish media revealed Fenerbahce’s interest in Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof.
It was claimed that José Mourinho wants his defence reinforced, and with the Swede becoming a target, they could offer €8m for his transfer.
Fenerbahce’s chase for Lindelof is now backed up by Sky Deustchland journalist Florian Plettenberg, who shares an update on this pursuit.
It’s said Manchester United are actually open to selling the centre-back this summer, as his contract with them expires next year.
With Lindelof gone, it’s claimed that the Red Devils will then go after two central defenders in the transfer window.
Plettenberg shares some information on a few options. It’s said the talks for Everton’s Jarrad Braithwaite are ‘ongoing but difficult’, while Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt ‘remains a target’. Regarding Lille’s Leny Yoro, it’s said the club ‘haven’t given up hope’.
Manchester United have lost Raphael Varane this summer, and are still to confirm Jonny Evans’ stay. The defence is clearly an area which needs some reinforcements, and if Lindelof really goes, that’s likely to become the priority.
