For the past few months, we’ve seen how big the rumours linking Everton to Lille defender Gabriel Magalhães became.
In the most recent updates, it’s been said the Toffees have offered between €27m and €32m for the Brazilian.
The 22-year-old was supposed to visit the club’s facilities this month, but was stopped due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and that’s what reportedly put the talks on hold for now.
Gabriel has been interviewed today by Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, and although most of the chat was about how he’s doing during quarantine, there was also room for the Everton rumours.
Globo Esporte writes that Everton are currently ‘following the scenario’ before taking a final decision on their attempt for the defender.
The outlet claims that the amount would be around €30m, and points out that the player has recently renewed his contract with Lille, now tied to the club until 2023.
“I just renewed the contract,” Gabriel Magalhães told Globo Esporte. “I heard about conversations, I saw things on websites in England, but I have my head in Lille and I’m very calm to finish the season well, achieve great things in the next season.”
