SK Rapid Wien youngster Emanuel Aiwu has revealed how he would love to play for Manchester City if given the chance.
The central defender joined the Austrian side in a deal from Admira Wacker and has since gone on to make 33 appearances for them this season.
He’s considered a player to keep an eye on in the future for Austria, having risen up their youth ranks and played for them at every level from U18 to U21.
This season has been one of rapid development for the youngster, who, while being a regular in the Austrian Bundesliga, has also had a taste of European football, playing in both the Europa League and Europa Conference League.
The former saw him come up against Wes Ham in the group stages, playing 90 minutes in both clashes against David Moyes’ side in Group H.
That gave him his first taste of a Premier League side, although for him, there’s only one club in England he’s interested in; Manchester City.
“I think that some leagues have their appeal, be it German, Italian, Spanish or French,” he told Kicker.
“But for me personally, the Premier League is currently the most attractive because it’s the most difficult. Every team has an enormously high level of quality.
“The pace and intensity are very high. We noticed it ourselves when we played West Ham; what a high tempo is played.
“My favourite club is Manchester City and my favourite player Yaya Toure, through him I became a fan. It would be a dream for me to wear this jersey one day.”
