Celtic target Dusko Tosic has spoken to the Turkish media about his future, after reports he could leave Besiktas this month.

The Serbian could leave the Turkish side in the current window, and the player has also been linked with a move to Celtic in recent weeks, as Brendan Rodgers looks to strengthen his squad.

Speaking to Sabah, Tosic was asked about his future after reports he could leave the Turkish champions in January: “I have been receiving offers for the past couple of years. In truth, I am very happy in Istanbul. I am enjoying the best time of my life here. We win titles, we are challenging with the best teams in the world and we have brilliant fans.

“I want to stay at this great club unless the board has different plans for me. I respect their decision but if they don’t want to sell me then I’m definitely staying here and will fight for my jersey.”

Last month, we covered the reports from the Turkish press that Celtic wanted to bolster their defensive options in January, and Tosic could be brought in by the Scottish Premiership champions.

It was claimed Celtic were ready to table a bid in the region of €3m to sign the former QPR player. The Serbia international would be brought in as competition for Eric Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata.
