Arsenal are today included in the race for Midtjylland defender Ousmane Diomande.

The player is currently having a loan spell at Portuguese side Mafra, and that’s why the report comes from the Portuguese media, with journalist Bruno Andrade sharing some news on his situation.

Diomande’s season in the second division has been good enough for some clubs to get interested in his signing. One of them are Sporting, who are working to buy him from the Danish side.

It’s said the Lions are working to offer €7m plus €1.5m in bonuses, although Midtjylland demand €10m, and the talks are ongoing.

That’s where Arsenal come in, with Bruno Andrade claiming the player is also ‘in the sights’ of the Gunners, although it’s not clear whether Arsenal are making a move for him.

Diomande is loaned to Mafra until the end of the season, so in case of a January transfer, they would probably need to be compensated for breaking the spell.

It’s just interesting that Arsenal are eyeing a player from the Portuguese second division, but with Sporting looking to spend big on him, that’s a good proof that he’s showing good potential there.
