Porto defender Diogo Leite knows nothing about a move to Birmingham City, the Portuguese press reports today.

In touch with OnSoccer, the company which takes care of the player’s career, newspaper Record were told they aren’t aware of his move to the Championship side.

Record says that OnSoccer took the news with “strangeness and indifference”. Even though Leite’s future at Porto isn’t certain, as he may not get a lot of playing time next season, the Blues don’t seem close to signing him.

Now where did this rumour come from? Record says ‘some information on the internet’ said the player would be ‘loaned to the English side for a year’. We took a look at the claims, and it seems Record was actually trolled.

No websites have reported the move, and all you can find are a few tweets about the transfer.

The original post was made by @NoelArmand74, who identified himself as a journalist, but now has his profile suspended. Taking a look at his latest mentions, it seems it was just another parody or pretend-to-be account on Twitter.

Whoever Noel Armand is should be proud now, since he’s made to a Portuguese newspaper, and perhaps even Diogo Leite believed he could be moving to the Championship for a second.
