Bought for some unknown reason for over £6m by Leicester City back in 2015, Yohan Benalouane has had a terrible time at King Power Stadium.
Very rarely featuring, the 30-year-old only has nine minutes of professional under his belt this season, and there’s every chance he could leave in January.
This is what TuttoMercatoWeb are reporting on Thursday, claiming that a number of Italian clubs, even if they remain unnamed, are after his services.
Benalouane himself is said to be keen on a return to Italy, where he spent most of his career prior to his move to Leicester.
Playing for Cesena, Parma and Atalanta between 2010 and 2015, the Foxes’ defender even spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan back in Italy at Fiorentina, although he never made an appearance during his time there.
With a contract running out in 2019 and Claude Puel clearly not planning on using him anytime soon, a swift exit in January is probably best for all parties.
