Giuseppe Bellusci’s agent Michelangelo Minieri believes his client’s time at Leeds United helped him develop as a player. The 27-year-old joined Empoli on loan in the last summer window after two years at Leeds United.
In an interview with Calciomercato24, Minieri was asked about Bellusci’s spell at Leeds United, following his move from Catania in 2014. Minieri said Bellusci’s time in England was beneficial to him because it gave the defender a chance to play in a major league like the Championship. The player’s agent thinks the physical aspect of English football gave Bellusci much needed experience during a wonderful period with Leeds United.
“At Leeds United he had two years and it was a very important and beautiful experience that has allowed him to grow a lot. He has had the opportunity to compete in a major championship especially from a physical point of view. It was a wonderful experience,” said Bellusci’s agent.
Last month Bellusci served his second ban of the season after becoming the first player in Serie A to reach double figures for bookings. Despite these issues the central defender has been one of Empoli’s key players and a permanent transfer from Leeds United is a high possibility in the summer.
With the recent confirmation Pontus Jansson has committed himself to Leeds United it’s unlikely Bellusci will be in Garry Monk’s future plans.
