Bologna defender Filip Helander is continuing to be linked with a move Leeds United in the Italian media. That will please fans of the Championship club, who seem quite excited by the prospect of pairing Helander with Pontus Jansson.
Bologna News have reported the 24 year old’s future with Bologna is uncertain due to the Italian side recently signing Giancarlo Gonzalez. This means Roberto Donadoni has five central defenders at his disposal, and at least one could be offloaded this summer.
Daniele Gastaldello was the defender expected to be sacrificed by the former AC Milan star, but Helander could be the new candidate to leave. Bologna News says Leeds United are showing ‘insistence’, and Bologna could sell the Sweden international to raise revenue.
Last month it was claimed Leeds United were lining up a €6m bid for Helander, and considering partnering him with Jansson. The two central defenders came through at Malmo, and played alongside each other for the Swedish club.
