Panagiotis Retsos has completed his medical at Sheffield United ahead of signing a loan deal at the club.

Chris Wilder’s side have been busy in this transfer window, moving quickly to boost their squad as they look to build on an impressive first season back in the Premier League.

Having already completed deals for the likes of Richairo Zivkovic and Sander Berge they now look close to completing their move for Retsos.

According to Fussball.news, the centre back has already completed his medical tests with the club and should be officially presented by Sheffield United shortly.

The website reports that the ‘imminent deal’ is likely to be a loan until the end of the season, with Bayer Leverkusen seemingly unwilling to lose him permanently at this stage.

There is no mention of whether the deal will include a purchase option for Sheffield United, although Bayer have moved quickly to replace Retsos with defender Edmond Tapsoba set to join the club from Vitoria Guimaraes.
